MY REVIEW:
Lee Ann Daniels was mourning her mother's death and was sent to her estranged father who was trying hard to make things good with her. Although she wasn't that close to her stepmother, Lee Ann persevered amidst getting her foot set in the tiny town of Laverne, her birthplace.
But being there and making new friends didn't make her stay easier when she discovered something eerie and mysterious with the town and its landscape. And that voices she heard at night, well, let's just say, if I were her, I would have ran across the miles to stop them from talking in my head.
This book by Russ Thompson is well written and started off with a strong vibe. The motley crew of characters are surprisingly amazing. There is a strong force pulling me into their world and I am looking forward to reading more about Lee Ann and her powers and the unexpected challenges she and her friends could be facing in their next adventures. Two thumbs up! Perfect for Halloween, too!
