Dig Deep & Fly High: Reclaim Your Zest and Vitality by Loving Yourself from Inside Out
by Penelope Elfin
Reading Penelope Elfin's book tugged at my heartstrings and opened my eyes to things I used to abandon and take for granted. Dig Deep and Fly High doesn't only help me reclaim my zest, but it enables me to grow into a mature person, feel important and be open to change and accept it.
The premise of the book shares Penelope's early beginnings and struggles and how she had outgrown herself into a calmer and more motivated woman. Basing on her story, I can say that we had some things in common. Like her, when I was younger, I also felt ashamed of who I was and didn't have the confidence to face other people because I had trust issues. My dream was to become a journalist, but my parents didn't help me pursue that dream because they thought it wouldn't help me, given my shy personality. Little did they know that I wanted to come out of my cocoon and fly.
The book also featured the various pains and challenges she had faced and conquered. When I read of Penelope's health scare, I couldn't help but tear up. I know of the arthritic attacks, I mean I can relate to it, because my mom suffered from it. I was amazed how Penelope was able to hold on and endure her pain until she was able to break free and move on. More importantly, I liked how she had shared her visions and have included instructions on how to view life in an unexpected way. She shared diverse techniques that would enable us to achieve more clarity and perspective, as well as some activities that permit us to extend our awareness and feelings that will rejuvenate our inner selves. I highly recommend this book to each and everyone who seems lost and would like to find their way to a better and more meaningful future.
