thanks, 2008

i've got lots and lots of reasons and things to be thankful for the year 2008.. a lot of good things happened to me, my family & my career.. as much as i would love to say i couldn't ask for more, i'd gladly take that back.. coz i believe that the Lord has still so much more to give...
let me just recap the things that happened and those that i will never forget in the year 2008..
January - i met new friends.. Rhaiza, Joy, Ruby & Bino came into the scene when they were hired by my company and started their training on EmbarQ.. it was the start of a beautiful friendship which grew tighter and stronger, with Marina & Jane close by my side..
February - my birthday month, i celebrated it with my family and my co-workers.. got a kiss from my kiddies and from some colleagues.. i was just touched with their thoughtfulness.. also, i was able to celebrate Chinese New Year with my in-laws and first time to have tikoy on our dining table to munch on..
March - my mom & hubby's birthday month.. we were able to visit our relatives in Pangasinan and spent Holy Week with them. and this is the month when i got sick and wasn't able to go to work for the first time..
April - Embarq's first out-of-town bonding happened in Hundred Islands, Pangasinan.. my sister acted as tour guide to my colleagues as they enjoyed the white sands and bounty bodies of water in our hometown.. another reason to celebrate was when my buddy Michael Paul passed the ECE Exam and he treated us for a halo-halo afternoon in Angeles city.. hmm. this is also the month where i discovered that some of my things at the office got missing and i found out where my things are when i saw someone from the Back-Office using my stuffs..
May - my family went back to Pangasinan for the barangay fiesta.. but we were in shock after we learned that typhoon Cosme ravaged our province and a lot of people became homeless due to the wrath of the thunderstorm.. this month, i also started scrapbooking.. but i stopped by the end of the month coz i didn't have much resources and time..
June -nothing much happened this month, except that i felt bad when Lakers bowed down to Celtics after they failed to grab the NBA Champoinship trophy.. aside from that, June was our busiest month because that's when our new database was finally done and we had to redo all the cases and petitions that we entered on our old d-base..
July - another busy month at the office.. but it was okay.. lots of overtime pay wasn't a bad idea anyway.. hmm.. 'tis also the kilig month - when me and my circle of friends watched A very Special Love and fell in love with John Lloyd all over again.. the last week of the month was when my parents-in-law decided to leave for Australia to spend time with their daughter Ate Shey and her two cute sons - Terence & Tristan
August - month of goodbyes and hellos - two of my bankruptcy buddies, Chen & Michael filed their resignation and moved on to greener pastures.. but Novie was there to save the day and we happily welcomed her to our team.. we also bade goodbye to our old building and we moved on to our new site iQor 2 @ Clark Center.. and oh! the Beijing Olympics and Ginebra's championship were also the highlights of the month..
September - my son, Kyle's birthday month, whcih was celebrated in 3 locations - first in Mexico with my in-laws, then in Clark Picnic Grounds with my family and third in Jollibee (for the nth time!) .. and oh, how can i forget? this is when i started trimming down.. yay!
October not really my kind of month.. it's when i had a word war with a new co-worker and we ended up foes.. but at the end of the month, we patched things up and became friends again.. but one thing that made this month unforgettable one was when i was promoted to a Senior Agent in less than a year!!
November this is when i had my Twilight fever.. which, until now, i am still having hallucinations of Edward Cullen.. argh!! anyway, i also caught up with my other addictions like Smallville & Fallen.. and yes, i finally celebrated my first year anniversary in the company!
December the happiest month of the year - my dad went home for a three-week vacation in the Philippines, i attended a couple of Xmas parties (Embarq & iQor) my kids received a lot of gifts this christmas and Pam sent me a very beautiful gift - the Twilight series..
but the best thing in 2008, for me, is i was able to spend the whole year with my family and God has been so good to us because He guided us in every way.. 2008 was a year to remember and i'm looking forward to the things that 2009 has to offer... may we all have a meaningful year ahead!!
