the weekend that was..

Saturday morning, my family and I boarded the air-conditioned Five Star bus going to Pangasinan for our weekend escapade.. we were supposed to bring our car, but my hubby was sleepy since he just got out from work.. and i wouldn't want him driving because we might not be able to make it if he does... so we decided to commute..

my father, who had arrived from U.S a week ago, picked us up when we got off from the bus. to my delight, i screamed, more like squeaked out loud when i saw my panganay, Kyle, waving his hands and shouting from the rolled down windows of my dad's car. i was carrying my youngest son, Kian and he too, was waving his hands when he saw his Kuya... we really missed Kyle a lot!!

i sat at the back of the car with my two darlings seated on my either sides. Kyle was very talkative and was very passionate when he told me that he had missed me.. i asked him what he did while i was away and he said, "Mommy, di mo ba nabasa text ko? nagtext ako Mommy di ba?" i scratched my head telling him i didn't receive any SMS from him.. then my brother, Jonas, told me that Kyle had a toy cellphone at home and my sister always see him pressing the keypads & pretending that he was texting somebody.. so maybe, it was me he was texting at that time.. too bad, i wasn't able to receive the message.. he must have ran out of pre-paid loads.. hehehe..

later that night, i learned that Kyle didn't talk to my dad when he first arrived in Pangasinan. he actually hid under my mom's skirt literally when he saw Tatay because my dad was bald.. Kyle doesn't like 'em bald and shining.. hahaha.. but soon enough, when his grandpa gave him lots of toys and goodies, Kyle softened to my dad and then they were inseparable..

that same night, i saw Kyle holding his toy cellphone and placing it on his ears.. then he started talking.. i overheard him asking whoever was at the other end of the line to hurry up because he was about to eat all the chocolate that his grandpa gave him... my hubby and i were caught giggling when Kyle looked around.. he looked really cute when he plays with his toy cellphone.. it was as if he was really talking to somebody else, nodding his head and pausing before saying another word...so kawaii!

during Kyle's 4-day stay in Pangasinan, he was the Apple of everyone's eye... but when i brought Kian to the scene, my little boy managed to steal the limelight.. there are times when all Kian had to do was to show his pearly whites, and everyone else would say oooohh & ahhhhh.. aside from his close-up smile, he knows how to pose for the camera and sing Bugoy's "Pano na kaya?" .. oh di ba, cute?

oh well, i just have to say that our weekend was full of fun and surprises.. i missed Kyle so much and i know he missed us all too. i'm so glad my dad is here.. his presence made us all happy and loved. in two weeks time, Tatay will be coming back to California.. and it's gonna be another 2 years before we finally see him again.. Bon Voyage, tatay! we love you!
