from dusk to dawn...
but lately, a realization has dawned on me.. my infatuation for Pattinson - now called RPattz - the actor - is already fading to oblivion..
at first, i didn't know what really attracted me or which one i prefered - is it the character or the actor? remembering Cullen's remark: "You can Google it", i became an obedient lamb who surfed the net and googled for RPattz pics and info..
results? well, RPattz looked really good as a Vampire and a Wizard (Cedric Diggory) but as his normal self, he was full of stubbles, his hair was unkempt and unwashed, and he smokes.. not a pretty sight for a hunk..
oops, before you mock me or throw stones at me, i admit i also saw pics of him where he was clean-cut and ooozed with sex-appeal.. and yes, i know i shouldn't be judging one's personality through pictures only... but there was something in him that made me cringe and not think of him as Edward Cullen anymore..i still don't know what that "something" is..
anyway.. on to my realization... yesterday, i started reading again the PDF copies of the first chapters and snippets of the Twilight series (up to Midnight Sun).. by just reading the stories and internalizing the adjectives that Stephenie Meyer associated with her characters, i've come to my senses that i've actually fell in love with Edward Cullen, the vampire itself and not with the actor portraying him.. it's just like this: without makeup Rob Patts is not that hot..yeah, pretty lame analysis, huh...i guess, my habit of excessively getting all the information i could find about an actor or a celebrity i like had made me insane. now i think i was pathetic for liking RPattz so much.. fortunately, i've finally woken up.. sorry Rob lovers.. i dont have anything against you or Rob. i'm just happy because i've finally taken control of my fan-girling self..
nevertheless, i still want to have a copy of the book.. lucky me, my hubby promised that he's gonna get all the Twilight series and give it to me as his Xmas gift.. yipeee!! with that, i'll stay in love with Edward Cullen, the vampire - nothing more, nothing less..
FYI: i've actually first learned about Twilight through my online friend monique aka babymex .. every detail, info and all things Twilight, i learned from her page.. and for that i'm very much thankful to her for introducing me to one of the best-loved vampire story of all time.. thanks so much Monique!!

ReplyDeleteAko, ganun din, i love edward cullen's character, not the actor. I was actually visualizing edward to be super duper gorgeouse (not that robert isnt, masyado lang ako nagexpect based on stephanie's description)
So with Rosalie, who is supposed to be verrry beautiful.
I liked the midnight sun, sayang nga lang that the novel was published illegally, sana natapos ni stephanie kasi its a really really good book.
we have the same sentiments, jamie.. i actually love Cullen, the character only... first time i saw RPattz in the trailer, i wasn't really thrilled.. but i came to like the movie because the story itself.. i've only read a chapter of Midnight Sun.. sana nga tapusin na lang to ni stephenie para sulit.. :D
ReplyDeletewhen I first saw the trailer at the movie theatre para bang wala lang... pero I've learned about the book series from one of my twitter pals, so I checked it out, I actually bought the first book and from there I got hooked. masyado ako nadala, I loved the characters, naobsess ako grabeh kaya tinapos ko muna yung book tapos pinanood ko yung film, ok lang naman, yung dating nya kasi dun parang nakaka dazzle talaga, although yung iba hate yung pagkakamake up sa kanya hahaha, tapos I always watched twilight clips on youtube, mga cast interviews, etc. basta ang OA ko grabeh natatawa na lang asawa ko sakin eh, sa kabaliwan ko. tapos yun nga, when I saw him with his scruffy look para bang err.. eww, hahaha, cute sya pag clean look, not the scruffy look! basta big turn off yun, lalo na yung nalaman kong nag so smoke sya at umiinom, hayy nakakainis nawala na tuloy paunti unti ang twilight fever ko dahil dun. but still, I love the cullens! natawa ako sa gumanap kay Rosalie eh, si Nikki reed eh tanned girl, pinaputi, napakadaming blonde bombshells na pwedeng piliin sya ang kinuha, yung director kasi eh nagdirect sya ng movie na 13 noon si nikki reed nasa cast na yun. so anyways, I enjoyed my time chatting here, di ko alam na twilight fan ka rin, susme, kung alam ko lang todo kwentuhan tayo hahaha, ang sarap kasi makipagkwentuhan sa mga taong mahihilig rin sa gusto mo eh diba. and yeah, agree ako sana tapusin ang midnight sun, nakakakilig basahin yung story ulit but based on Edward's perspective dba? hehee
