a mom's moment

last Friday night, Marina and I went to SM Clark to be part of the grand 3-day sale.. even though our wallets and pockets don't have much dinero's in them, our hearts were filled with joy and our faces were beaming because we have ended up our almost disastrous day with a smile..

hand-in-hand we trotted around the mall and passed by the boutiques that had big SALE signs in every corner. we were in high spirits as we hummed along with the Christmas songs being played on air.. truly, the Yuletide season is near..

if there's something that binds me & marina together, that is our passion for reading.. so needless to say, we went to our two favorite bookstores to fill up our inquisitive minds - National Bookstore & Booksale.. they're on SALE too, so automatically, we joined the bandwagon of bookworms who were busy reading in between aisles.. Marina bought some books for herself and for her niece.. i did the same. i got myself a Harlequin romance book which i hoped to finish during the weekend. and oh! i was glad to see Disney Books for kids!! i decided to buy two Learning Lessons from Pooh & Friends. i told myself, Kyle will surely love these thick picture-filled story books..

when i got home, two li'l "power-masked men" approached me and said, "Hello mommy, welcome back!" apparently, my cousin, Colleen bought two Power Rangers mask which my kids donned on their faces. when i removed their masks, they kissed me immediately and hugged me.. aahhh.. the joy of motherhood..

anyway, after we had our dinner, i asked Kyle to enter my room because i got a gift for him. i told him to open my bag and see what was in it.. gladly, he unzipped my bag and he lovingly took out the two Disney books i brought him.. i thought, he would just walk away with those books.. but alas! in one swift motion, li'l Kyle wrapped his arms around me, hugged me so tightly for about 20 seconds.... then he uttered the magical words, "Thank you for the books Mommy, I love you!"...

he didn't let me go. he kept hugging me until i was literally out of breath.. i told him i'd buy him more books if he will lend some to his li'l bro, Kian.. Kyle smiled so sweetly and said, "syempre po, love ko din sya eh" then he kissed me again..

that night, i slept soundly beside my two kids. i was actually teary eyed before i finally succumbed to my dreams.. deep inside, i was really ecstatic.. before i closed my eyes, i told myself, "oh what a joy it has been. "
