trimming down

i woke up around 5am today.. a little earlier than my usual wake-up call... i washed my face with lukewarm water, changed into a jogging outfit, wore my sneakers and brought a small face towel with me..

it's been a long time since i seriously jogged around our village and decided to sweat it all out.. yes, finally, i'm really pursuing my dream of slimming down..

wonder why after all these years, i finally decided to get into shape?

let me tell you why...

friday morning, i was rummaging my closet to check my black lace blouse which i last saw (and wore) in 2004. that was barely 4 years ago.. i thought i'd wear it again.. sadly, when i tried fitting it, the front straps broke and I could hardly breathe when i finally managed to snug it onto my body...

oh my gosh! i looked like a tadpole!

my mom, who was watching me in front of the mirror, laughed and told me that i'm sooo fat! my hubby, as modest as possible, told me, honey, i think it's time to check the threadmill...

i sighed.. yes, mom has been brutally honest with me. she had always been telling me to trim down or at least lessen my food intake, but i was just so stubborn.. hubby, on the other hand, had been e-mailing me some tips on how to lose weight and what are the appropriate foods to take.. but i just ignored those e-mails..

now, reality has finally bitten me.. a lot of my old clothes had been stuck on my wardrobe and everytime i try to fit on those dress, i just end up cursing and secretly wishing for a genie to come out and grant my wish to become as sexy as Natalie Portman...

yet, nothing happens to that secret wish...

last Saturday night, while I was watching the Grand Dream Night of PDA, i noticed Laarni's now slimmer body.. i told myself, if Laarni can, then so can i...

so i decided to take up the challenge.. i've come out with a plan that i can readily fulfill..

for starters, every morning, i'll jog around our area (in our village) and do some sit-ups and warm-up exercises...

every wednesday, i'll join my sister and her peers to play badminton & volleyball..

and every friday, i'll hit the gym in our place and do some stretching...

hmm.. pretty easy for me to write them all down.. i just hope i'll be able to do those things..

anyway, good news!

i was able to do Tip # 1... Jogging! whew!! this morning, after running/jogging 10 laps around our place, i felt light.. as if my feet were not touching the ground.. and my t-shirt was all wet! i felt so gooood!!!

ahhh,, wish me luck, peeps! hopefully tomorrow, i'll be able to strictly follow my routine.. ciao!
