total solar eclipse

got this news from an e-mail.. it said,

On Friday, 2008 August 01, a total eclipse of the Sun is visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half the Earth. The path of the Moon's umbral shadow begins in Canada and extends across northern Greenland, the Arctic, central Russia, Mongolia, and China.

A partial eclipse is seen within the much broader path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes northeastern North America, most of Europe and Asia."

while i would love to experience this phenomenon, i doubt it if i can see this happening on Friday.. it has been raining hard for about a month now.. and typhoon Igme is still at large. hopefully, the sun would smile on us this weekend (friday) so i / we can take a look at the eclipse which happens once in a blue moon.. (hmm.. )
