siberian tears...

A while ago, I was with my peers taking our lunch in the pantry, when I heard Marina gasped. I wondered why..

I saw her watching a movie on the cable tv. it featured Siberian Huskies struggling to get out of a pile of snow and fighting with a leopard seal.. I thought I saw this movie somewhere, but I do not have an idea what it was.. I decided to continue watching while taking a bite of my “baon” spicy meatloaf sisig . on the latter part of the movie, I can’t help but feel sappy because of the scene where the sled dogs are behaving like parents caring for a wounded family member..

I asked for the title of the movie. Marina & Delon said something about the number 8 and Mile and Below.. hmm.. my brain cells said, that’s not 8 Mile! I can’t see Eminem anywhere!

And soon I saw Paul Walker.. damn, he’s so hot! Then I remembered, it’s Eight Below! This was one of the movies of 2006 that I was planning to watch with my dear friend, Deianira, because we loooove Siberian Huskies … AND Paul Walker!!!

ok back to the movie.. do you know that I was crying a bucket of tears when I got to the scene where Paul went back to the Antarctic ocean to check on his sled dogs and he found the dog chain instead and then the huskies appeared from up ahead? Oh my, I was really crying! Kuya Randy, Delon & Marina laughed when they saw me wiping my tears.

Why in the world was I crying?

I guess, I was deeply touched by the message of the movie.. well, that’s part of being a woman and a mom at the same time. My easily gets softened when I see scenes about reconciliation or about a man caring for his pet and family..

I recommend this movie to all of you, just in case you haven’t catch it.. anyway, here’s what I got from Internet Movie Data Base..

"Plot Summary for Eight Below (2006 – Paul Walker)
In the Antarctic, after an expedition with Dr. Davis McClaren (Bruce Greenwood), the sled dog trainer Jerry Shepherd (Paul Walker) has to leave the polar base with his colleagues due to the proximity of a heavy snow storm. He ties his dogs to be rescued after, but the mission is called-off and the dogs are left alone at their own fortune. For six months, Jerry tries to find a sponsor for a rescue mission while his dogs fight for survival."

  1. haha I'm not a mom but I get teary-eyed in movies like that as well. :D

I haven't seen it myself; its screening must have gone over my head.

I'll try to see if I can see it.

    take care!
