When you’re in love, would you follow your heart or use your head?

Hmm.. intriguing, eh? Well, not really…

I got this question from my brother when I visited him and my sister weng..

apparently, lil bro, Nash wants to know what his future is like if he’s gonna marry his long-time on-and-off girlfriend Katharyn – or – follow his dreams of conquering the Land of Milk and Honey and be a certified nurse.. I told him, “why don’t you try doing both? Go to US, live with our dad & kuya Jojo and practice your craft and eventually, petition your gf and get married?”

My brother shrugged his shoulders and said, “my gf has other plans already, Ate.. she’s going to Europe right after our board exams and she vowed that she will not return unless I follow her..”

Ahhh.. the dilemma of teenage love.. puppy love.. (oh wait, my bro’s already 20 so he’s no longer a teenager, right?)

He’s still in college but he already wants to know what it’s like to be 25 or older.. he says he’s got big plans for our mom – he wants her to have her dream mansion.. he’s got big plans for my little son too (kian – who happens to be his inaanak) – he said he wants Kian to be the next superstar - moviestar and Nash would be his manager..

yeah.. silly dreams.. hopeful dreams.. big dreams..

But when it comes to his girlfriend, he’s like a tamed tiger.. he can’t decide for his own.. he always seeks her partner’s advice.. he always wants her to be happy before anyone else.. he adores her.. he worships her..

When he learned that Kat has plans of going abroad too, he got excited.. but it heartens him to learn that the girl wants to build her future in another land and never return.. she’s driving him crazy..

I told him to do the right thing.. he can follow what his heart tells him to do.. he can think about the situation over and over again.. but always ask for Guidance from the One so he will be enlightened..

I dunno if what I told him is right.. I dunno if he followed my advice.. but what I do know is my brother is a brave lad and he’s gonna make it through the rain..
