ako si Wonder Woman...

try asking my almost-3-year old son who his superheroes are and this is what he'll answer you...

"si WonderMommy and Batman Daddy"

no kidding!

it all started when i used Justice League as a theme for my first son's first birthday two years ago... Kyle was very happy with our invitation cards that he asked me to keep one and not ever let anyone steal it...

he wore a Superman costume during his big day..

a year later, for my sons' second birthday, my dear kumare- Dei gave me a pair of dvds of Justice League (animated series) and Justice League Unlimited (JLU) as a gift for Kyle... my son couldn't hide his excitement.. he immediately asked his dad to insert the dvd so he can watch his fave superheroes the day after his birthday..

from episode 1-5, he stayed on his seat without bothering anyone of us.. as if he already understood what he was watching.. he raised his arms when he sees Superman fly, he jumped when he sees Batman swing from one corner to another, and he smiled when he sees Wonder Woman takes out her lasso to catch the villains..

the next day, his JLU marathon continued.. he then memorized already the names of the 7 Justice league founders - Batman - Bruce Wayne, Wonder Woman - Diana, Superman - Clark Kent, Hawk Girl - Shayira, John Stewart - The Green Lantern, Wally West - The Flash, J'onn- Martian Manhunter...i was surprised because i didn't even know Martian's name back then..

anyway, JLU became an overnight sensation to my kid. after a week of marathon, he started calling me Wonder Woman.. i wondered why.. when i asked my son why he calls me Wonder Woman is, he said, "Wonder Woman is YOU mommy... kasi pareho kayo beautiful and strong and you protect me!"

my heart cried upon hearing this.. he's still a child, but he sees things way beyond his age.. i even couldn't believe what i heard.. i even thought my hubby taught him how to answer, but my husband was adamant that he didn't ever coach our child to say those words..

i then asked my baby, kung si mommy si Wonder Woman, eh sino si daddy? Kyle simply smiled and said, "syempre, si Batman si Daddy.. kasi pogi!" my kid really knows how to melt our hearts.. ang bata-bata pa, magaling nang mambola, hehehe..

that's why i now heart Wonder Woman too.. :)
