first caragan festival

last thursday, feb.28, the very first Caragan Festival was held in Mabalacat, Pampanga.. lots of people attended the said event..

there were Street Dancing, Drum & Lyre competition, press people, charcoal painting and a bevy of beauties who vied for the Miss Mabalacat crown..

the festivites started around 3pm... fortunately, in my case, workloads in my office were emptied at an earlier time so we were able to go home at 4pm.. i was with my office mate and service-buddy Mike when we saw many people shouting and running (for their lives).. i asked a passerby about the commotion and he said, there's an on-going parade for the Caragan Festival.

my first impulse was to get my cam-phone to immortalize the said event.. however, Mike suddenly tapped me on my shoulder and screamed, "ate Claire, andyan na yung mag-uuling!"

eeep! i was almost victimized by the black man in oil wearing only a "bahag".. he was chasing people and putting charcoal on the unfortunate people's faces.. i ran as fast as i can so as not get "charcoal painted"... a guy riding a motorcycle and a lady with an umbrella were among the "unlucky" victims.. too bad..

i also saw an ABS-CBN van nearby and got a glimpse of Mayor Boking being interviewed.. i heard that he was actually asked about the Inter-Faith rally and Lozada case but not about the Caragan Fest.. haaayyy.. politics... politics... such a dirty game...

anyway, congrats to the people of Pampanga for the successfull and very first Caragan Festival :)

i'll post the pictures soon...
