a series of unfortunate events

i have always believed that if my day started with an unpleasant note, bad luck would be just around the corner, waiting to ruin my day... and that happened a week ago, April 27, 2007.

Woke up as early as 5am coz i had to arrange some of the stuffs that we had to bring to Pangasinan for our weekend holiday treat. my hubby, kids, yaya and i have been waiting for this much-deserved vacation so we made sure we packed all the things that we need and looked forward to an eventful and exciting weekend.

here comes bad news number 1

anyway, when i was about to open the padlock to our indoor gate, i discovered that it was locked.. i remembered that my mom, who went ahead to Pangasinan para hintayin lahat ang bisita and magprepare for our brgy fiesta , forgot to give me the duplicate key.. i don't have any spare keys on my hands coz i gave the other to Marc.. so I texted my husband to come home immediately after work so he can open the gate with his key set. However, Collyn said that my hubby may have left his keys in Mexico because his father borrowed our car and our house keys were attached there.. sheesh! to my dismay, i discovered he left his cellphone in our room and was actually empty-batt!!! aaccckkk!!!

i was panicking already coz i didn't know what to do.. i didn't know if marc has our car keys or not.. so what i did is - i got a hammer and repeatedly pounded the padlock.. when i got tired, Collyn took the hammer from my hand and did the same.. since we are girls, we do not have enough force to destroy the padlock.. so i called out asking for help trust me, i was really embarassed shouting out loud!! .. luckily, our friendly garbage man, Ambo, was at the neighborhood, doing his daily routine.. i told him to jump up the fence (read: mag over da bakod) so he can help us destroy the padlock.. all of us gave out a sigh of relief when the lock got totally whacked after 40 grueling minutes (yeah, it took that long to finish!!!)...

...an hour later, my husband arrived and he was clueless about the padlock incident. i just told him about what happened after his breakfast, hehehehe..

anyway, i still went to work after that.. i had to empty out my MAC folder so i won't have backlog on my queue.. my Windows colleagues still have to process 23, 817 docs to rush, so OT was opened.. lucky me, i don't get that much on MAC.

an hour before i said goodbye to my mates, cecille approached me and asked when will i be back.. she wanted to know if i can get her some Boneless Bangus while i'm on vacation.. i gladly said yes, and to my own surprise, i found myself asking my YGM Team if they want some so i can take some orders from them.. yay!!! that's marketing! hahaha...

ok then.. here's bad news number two:

when i got out from the office, i dropped by our ATM Machine booth and decided to withdraw all the money left in my account so i'll have pocket money during our vacation.. after i punched in the amount that i wanted to withdraw, i waited for about 2 minutes before my ATM Card came out.. i was surprised because there was no cash coming out from the dispenser.. i checked my account again and to my shock, all the money i had was gone!!! my account was debited!!! i didn't get any cash at all.. !!!! damn!!!!!!

i was not able to report this incident to my main bank, unfortunately, because i didn't have the time to do so since my family's leaving in an hour.... huhuhu..

bad news number three:

we were already travelling when something happened to our car... its a Space Wagon, green color, automatic .. somewhere in Camiling, Tarlac, we felt the heat coming from the aircon vents.. i thought that was just the effect of the hot summer sun.. but then we suddenly came to a halt. the engine died and God knew how shocked i was when i saw smoke coming from the hood.. damn engine got overheat! we went out of the car because we're getting suffocated for too much heat. my husband did what he needed to do, while i and my kids basked under the sun.. gosh! sa lahat ng mahihintuan, dun pa sa walang lilim.. eeep!!!

so we walked to the nearby shed and waited for about 25 minutes till we get the ride going again.. huh!

bad news number 4

we stopped again!!!! my husband noticed that the car's temperature was getting higher and higher so we had to stop again.. we were somewhere in Aguilar, Pangasinan when this happened.. my gosh!! we ran out of bottled water already!! sheesh.. good thing, my husband walked a little father and was able to find a water pump (poso) and Collyn helped him get water. .. such tedious errand but someone's gotta do what he's got to do.. haayyy...

bad news number 5

okay.. so we were able to get the car going again .. then i received a text message from my mom, telling us about our dear aunt, Tita Goring, which is my mom's eldest sister. My aunt passed away last April 24 and was to be buried on that day (April 27).. i felt sad because she was so close to me, and her grandchildren (who were of my age) were my best buddies.. my condolences goes out to my dear nieces and nephews - Millet, Red, Carlyn, Desiree, Rio, Michael and every one else...

bad news number 6

our car finally gave in! we got stucked again, for the last time, a few minutes before we were to reach our house in Domalandan.. the car could no longer start! marc checked the hood again and to our dismay, the hose connecting the radiator and the engine got busted! so that's the reason we were always stopping and overheating!!! the water tank no longer had water on it because the hose had a big leak!! eeep!! what made matters worse is that, the piston ring and pump belt (whatever those things are!!) were damaged too.. huhuhu.. so much for having a great vacation! ugh!!

why did we have to experience all of those stuffs? do i have a balat on my pwet or something? have i ran into a black cat that morning? was voldemort watching over us? whyy!!! huhuhuu..

more stories about our stay in Pangasinan on my next entry.. Ciao!
