miss couch potato

For about 3 months that i've been absent from work, i realized, my afternoon habit of channel surfing has turned me into a couch potato. it all started when my cousin (and kyle's yaya) Collyn, told me that Betty La Fea was being shown in Studio 23..

actually, i've already watched the whole series of Betty La Fea when it was still shown in GMA.. but that was almost 5 years ago.. basically, i no longer remember the whole story. i've already forgotten how Beatriz Pinzon got a job at EcoModa, how she was treated inside the office premises, and how she turned from an ugly duckling to an elegant swan and captured Sir Armando's cold heart ...

so i started watching Betty again every 12 pm.. after that, i would then switch channels from Wowowee to Eat.. Bulaga.. yeah, i do watch Wowoweee now.. actually, i hated this noontime-show before, because i get irritated by Wilie's antics and i don't like watching the portions wherein people would narrate their whole life story and blurt out crying.. i thought, it was kinda baduy.. but when i saw my mom laughing hard when the contestants and the audience crack some jokes or simply dance to the tune of Boom Tarat & Adudodo, i realized, having a good laugh from time to time is not that bad at all.. i'd stay watching the program until the Pasalog portion (because my son Kyle loves Luningning a lot! he grins when he sees Luningning does her kembot-dance moves!)

then i would change the channel to Eat Bulaga to get a glimpse of Vic Sotto and the rest of the gang in Bulagaan.. why? simply because, i'm crazy about the jokes and the chaos that the portion creates when Vic & Jose sing and when Allan K belts his Knock-Knock songs.. (sadly, Gladys G is no longer part of the show, i love the way she does Chuchay there.. heheh..)

anyway, shortly afterwards, Collyn and I would then watch AsiaNovelas in QTV 11.. yeah, i'm still a big fan of chinovelas, koreanovelas and j-doramas.. watching asian series always make my heart go a-flutter.. seems like i can't get enough of them chinitos and chinitas..

i'm grateful to my sister, Jean because she sent me dvds of my fave koreanovelas on my birthday.. i was able to watch the following series (i see to it that i was able to complete a series in a week):

1) Gokusen - a JDorama where my crushie, Jun Matsumoto leads a pack of bullies and eventually turned into a good student and a secret admirer of Kumiko, the 3rd generation master of Yakuza.. i learned that there is a Part 2 of this series, but i don't think i'm gonna watch it coz i know i'll only end up comparing Shin Sawada with the other lead guy of the second season.. but this series started my obsession with Japanese actors too - like Kimura Takuya (Good Luck)...

2) Sorry I Love You - starring So Ji Sub aka Miko... he's so ruggedly handsome talaga! although i noticed that in most of his tv series, he always dies at the end.. like in Memories of Bali, his character, Ryan Cam died when Paolo saw him canoodling with Nina atop their sinful bed in a hotel.. in here, in Sorry, he fell in love again with Celine but due to a bullet in his head, he died and was not able to personally say I love you to his woman.. awww...

3) It Started With A Kiss -grabeh, so kilig & unique ang wedding nina Michael & Jinny! (starring Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin) .. imagine a wedding wherein the groom's men wore gowns while the bride's maids wore tuxedos.. and the groom is so beautiful in her wedding gown while his bride is macho in a penguin suit.. their love story is a little typical among asianovelas (you know.. boy-meets-girl, stays in one house, feelings were developed then finally got married in the end)..

4) Magic Ring - another Joe Cheng starrer, but this time, he is a succesful lawyer but not much loved by his father.. the story is actually similar with the movie Mrs. Winterbourne (starring Shirley MacLaine and Brendan Fraser) where a girl - Xiao Lun met a couple (Joe's brother and his fiancee) in a train and was wearing the ring of the fiancee but when there was an accident, people thought that XiaoLun is the girl that Joe's brother was marrying.. if you have seen the movie, Mrs. Winterbourne, you'll likely know how this series will end..

5) Princess Hours... personally, i'd say, Prince Troy is way better looking than Crowned Prince Gian and i think, he really matches Janelle's personality.. but still, i find Gian & Janelle's tandem cute and it gives me that "kilig factor" that i always look for in a series.. the other girl, Monique, looks like Brenda Fox (of the PBB Teens fame) and i find her attractive.. parang mas bagay nga sila ni Gian.. my cousin is also so kilig too, that she wished she'll meet her Prince Charming soon.. hehehe..

anyway, i've just finished watching this koreanovela this week.... up next - Love Contract, another Ariel Lin starrer.. i just started watching the first two episodes and i'm already hooked.. ang cute ni Mike He... they actually look good together, better than with Joe Cheng.. anyway, i heard that the ending of this series is kinda sad.. but will eventually be happy.. i dunno.. i don't want to read the reviews and synopsis yet of this chinovela.. para naman masuspense ako, hehehe..

i'm looking forward to another week of sitting in front of the boob tube while munching my favorite La-La fish crackers... i'll surely miss this stup once i get back to work...

the men of my life - in TV, i mean....
